Rhys’s Cefi Drift Pig

We met Rhys a few weeks ago when he told us about his Ceffy drift pig he was building… and here is his story.

This is my first race car I have ever built i have owned a few cars that I have modded I had a blue VL 5ltr when i was on my P’s then sold it to buy a R33 that I slowly did up over the years nothing crazy just the normal bolt on exhaust inter cooler coil overs the usual things but when saw the cefiro i just had to have it drove it for a while on the street then took it up for some drifting then i was hooked.

My history with cars well I started racing karts when i was 6 did it all the way up till I got my license then jumped into a vn saloon car for a while but after that did my apprenticeship with Holden now have been a mechanic for 10years always been around cars though helping mates and help building cars with friends and family have always loved cars takes my mind of things nothing like getting a a car a going for a run around a track.

I got the ceffy bout 3 years ago it used to be white but the guy i bought it off had painted it cherry black so paint and kit was already good rest of the mods i have done myself and are as follows.

Engine- RB25DET standard internals with high mount 6boost manifold Garrett 3076r turbo all braided lines.

Greddy plenum with 80mm hyper tune throttle body.

50mm external ultra gate with screamer off course.

Bosch 044 fuel pump with sard external fuel reg and 640cc injectors, custom surge tank.

Custom exhaust and inter cooler piping 3inch turbo back to cat the 4ich out to the rear inter cooler is genuine GTR item.

soon to come hopefully Greddy fuel rail, Tomei cams and possibly forged internals and modified head gasket.

Drive line-R33 RB25 standard internals with Exeddy brass button clutch.

Custom tailshaft.

2way Nismo locked diff standard axles.

Suspension,Steering- Tein coil overs all round

Hicas lock out bar

front and rear strut braces

Tie rod end extensions

Adjustable front castor arms

Interior-Boot and floor carpets rear seats and center console removed

dash mounted switch gear with push button start

drivers bride racing seat with 4 point harness standard r33 pasenger seat

oil coolant temp fuel pressure and boost gauges drivers door mounted monster tach with shift light

Brakes-5 stud conversion with R33 GTST calipers all round

G5 hydraulic handbrake

Wheels and tires-unsure what wheels but i believe works two piece rims 10×17 235/45/17 fronts

10.5×17 265/45/17 rear

Obviously flares front and rear guards due to wheels size.

Im hoping for a figure of 400 to 450 rwhp once complete

A few things are still to come like full cage and some more suspension bits and ecu prob a Microtech item but im happy with the car for now just itching to get back on the track. I built the car for mainly drift but im hoping to do some sprints and hill climbs just to see how it goes.

I would like to say a few thanks to people that have helped and that are going to be helping out with the rest of the build thanks to friends that gave me there time you know who you are, Ken+Sarah and Rory+Leanne for advice, Terry from MCE, mike from Factory RE,  Josh and Jezz from PSS, Danny from Japanese performance, but most off all dad for putting up with my lack of patience.
